We purchased our unity candle set through the Fall River Candle Co. They were wonderful to work with, and the candles are absolutely gorgeous! There were three things that this company offered that sold us on them:
1. The candles are all hand-made
2. They offer oil unity candles. The candles are still made from wax, but the candles (except for the tapers) are hollowed at the top to allow a small oil candle to be placed in. It's not very noticeable, and it means you can keep your candle and relight it year after year. Yay!!
3. Their unity candle sets can be purchased with Mother's Candles. These are small versions of the unity candle that the mother's use to light the tapers - and they become a treasured gift and keepsake to your mother when the wedding is done.
Our unity candle was actually ivory in color, not white as pictured above. When I have photos of our candles, I will place them here.
The truly beautiful thing about our candles were the shades of white and ivory in the candle. The handmade candle was dipped many times in the wax, and each dipping was a slightly different shade of white/ivory. Thus, when the candle was carved, you could truly see the different shades, making it so very, very beautiful. And the way the candle is carved, it truly glows when it is lit.
